Anyone buying a sailing yacht such as the Nord 80 today, built between 1972 and 1985, is taking on a second- or third-hand boat. What counts for the contract is the replacement value, which is set in full hull cover as an agreed value and applies unchanged in the event of a claim.
We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Whether the yacht was bought at home or abroad and how many owners it had before changes nothing about access to the cover. Only the year of construction feeds into the premium, as one factor among several.
If a dispute arises after the purchase, for instance about concealed defects, we also offer legal expenses cover for water sports. It applies to disputes with a yard as well and supplements third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros as well as the hull cover.

What is the replacement value of a yacht of this age?
It is set as an agreed value when the policy is taken out. The amount is therefore fixed in advance and is paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Do I have to provide proof of the previous owner?
