We have no model ranges on file for Raven, neither types of boat nor construction periods. That is why we say nothing about the brand and stay with the insurance question: the basis of every policy is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graduated across the tariff levels.

It comes into play when you cause damage to a third party with your boat, and it is contained in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium, which differ in limit of indemnity and scope. Full hull cover and limited hull cover can be built on top of it, plus legal expenses cover for water sports.

For a quotation we need no brand history: type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range are sufficient. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online; above that we examine the individual case. Small series and home-built boats can also be insured.

What does third-party liability pay for?

For damage that you cause to a third party with the boat. Depending on the tariff level, the limit of indemnity is between 10 and 50 million euros.

Is a quotation possible without information about the yard?

Yes. We need the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range. The brand does not feed into the premium.

Licence

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Waters

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range

The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Weather

Check wind force in Beaufort and wind direction before casting off, and allow for gusts.
