Riamar; cover, cost and conditions

A 480 LX and a 480GLS from Riamar are already sailing in our own portfolio, so we know the brand from our own practice. We do not have a model catalogue, but that is still enough for the policy: the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range of your boat determine the premium and the classification.

If the boat is moved on the trailer, nothing extra has to be arranged: the boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no additional premium. An incident at the ramp is therefore covered just as one on the water is.

In the hull insurance, the full hull cover covers collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, and the limited hull cover covers fire, storm and the theft of the entire boat among other things. Compensation is paid at the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation, new for old. In this way a Riamar is equally well protected ashore and on the water.

Frequent questions

Is my Riamar insured during launching and on the trailer?

Yes. The cover applies during launching, craning and along the transport route, and the trailer is included at no additional premium. A separate policy for the trailer is not necessary.

NAMMERT does not list Riamar in any catalogue. Does that make taking out a policy more complicated?

No. A 480 LX and a 480GLS of the brand are already insured in our portfolio. What counts are the details of your boat, and the policy is taken out online up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range

The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Weather

Check wind force in Beaufort and wind direction before casting off, and allow for gusts.
