Worth knowing
Rosättra Båtvarv AB; cover, cost and conditions
Four sailing yachts are in the recorded range, the Linjett 34 since 2008, the Linjett 43 since 2011, the Linjett 39 since 2018 and the Linjett 36 since 2022, all to the present day. Continuous production over a decade and a half means that young and older boats are insured alongside one another.
In both cases third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros stands at the beginning, selectable in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. It covers damage to third parties, for instance in a failed harbour manoeuvre or a contact under sail.
The hull insurance builds on this. Full hull cover pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) on the basis of the agreed value and applies in the Premium tariff without any age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards, and races with ranking status you declare when taking out cover.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Which third-party liability level suits a sailing yacht?
You can choose between 10 and 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Anyone who regularly lies in crowded harbours or sails races usually chooses a higher level.
Does the cover also apply to a newly acquired boat?
Yes. Whether a new addition or an older model, cover is provided regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The basis remains the value arranged as an agreed value.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
