Worth knowing
Sailaway; cover, cost and conditions
Recorded is the Sailaway 30, a sailing yacht with a build period from 1978 to 1985, and nothing else. On size, orientation or breadth of the product programme no details are available. For the policy it is in any case the individual boat that counts, with the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.
The basis is third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, available in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium levels. It applies if you strike another hull while berthing or damage a jetty. Hull insurance and legal expenses cover for water sports build on it.
The full hull cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard and pays according to the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and the boat trailer is covered at no extra premium within the boat insurance.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Why does third-party liability come first?
Because damage to other boats, to people and to installations can exceed the value of your own boat. With us the limit of indemnity ranges from 10 to 50 million euros.
Can a yacht from 1978 still be registered today?
Yes, we insure regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit and pays according to the agreed value.

Series by Sailaway, build years and cover
Sailaway 30 is a sailing yacht from Sailaway, built from 1978 to 1985.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
