Four ranges are recorded, the 380 and V44 models since 2022, the V 33 from 2019 to 2023 and the D38 as a sailing yacht from 2013 to 2022. Part of the programme is still being built and part has been discontinued, so that a first purchase and a used purchase occur equally often.
With a used purchase what counts for the policy is not the price paid but the replacement value. We fix this amount as an agreed value, and full hull cover pays accordingly with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"). We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners.
Whether it is a motor yacht or a sailing yacht makes a difference in the calculation, because in the one case the engine power is taken into account and in the other the sail area. Added to this are the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. Legal expenses cover for water sports can be added and applies in disputes after the purchase of a used boat.

Which value belongs in the policy with a used purchase?
The replacement value, not the purchase price. It is arranged as an agreed value and is reimbursed in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Is the sailing yacht rated differently from the motor yachts?

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
