Older sailing yachts regularly raise the question of an age limit. For Sunward Yachts we have one model range on file, the Sunward 48, built between 1985 and 1992. In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, and the basis is a firmly arranged agreed value.
Compensation is paid on the basis of this agreed value with no deduction for depreciation, so that any discussion about the current value falls away. Covered are collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, plus, under limited hull cover, fire, storm, lightning strike and damage in winter storage.
No further details about the yard are available; for the contract they are not needed. With sailing yachts the sail area takes the place of engine power; type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
