Three lines sit under this name: the sailing yachts of the Sweden Yachts ranges 40 to 54, which have been listed since 1996 and up to the present day, the RIBs with engine from the RIB Unlimited programme, whose production ended in 2021 and 2022, and the Greatline 230 WA motor boat since 2019. For each line the question of the cruising range arises differently.
The cruising range is one of the premium factors, alongside type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and sail area. Inland waters and coastal waters are considered separately, and anyone who wants to go further out agrees this before the season. The international certificate of insurance is automatically available in ten languages.
A Comfort 34 is part of our portfolio. For sailing yachts, club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with scoring status are to be stated when taking out the policy. The full hull cover works with an agreed value, pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation, new for old, and in the Premium tariff with no age limit.

Frequent questions
Does the cruising area have to be extended before a longer trip?
The cruising range is stated in the policy and helps determine the premium. An extension from inland waters to coastal waters or beyond is agreed in advance, so that the cover applies without gaps during the trip.
Are the RIBs of the programme still insurable even though production has ended?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. A RIB Unlimited 700 from the production period up to 2022 can be covered just as much as a sailing yacht from current production.

Licence

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
