Which cover suits a Trojan? Liability is the foundation and settles injury, property and financial damage to third parties with €10 m to €50 m. Hull cover protects your own boat: partial cover for fire, storm, lightning, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage; full cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts, the outboard included.
What does insurance for a Trojan cost? The premium starts from €39 a year for a sailing boat, from €49 for a motorboat and follows value, year built, engine output or sail area, and cruising range. Full cover settles at the agreed value, with no deduction for new-for-old.

On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
