For Wahoo we have no model ranges on file. Neither production periods nor a type of boat are recorded, and no country is noted either. This changes nothing for the insurance cover, because we insure the specific boat and not the entry for a brand.

You tell us the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and the cruising range. From this the premium follows. If a policy already exists with another provider, we cancel the old policy free of charge in our switching service and coordinate the start date.

The structure remains the same as with any other shipyard: third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros as the foundation, plus limited hull cover or full hull cover with an agreed value and indemnity with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). Up to 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online.

Frequent questions

What applies if no data is available for a brand?

The cover does not depend on the brand. What is decisive is the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and cruising range of your boat; the premium also follows from this.

How does the cancellation with the previous provider work?

We take it over in the switching service and cancel the old policy free of charge. The new cover starts to match the end of the previous one so that no gap arises.

Licence

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Waters

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range

The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Weather

Check wind force in Beaufort and wind direction before casting off, and allow for gusts.
