Fanatic has been building windsurf boards since 1981 and today also SUP boards and foils, a German brand with a long history in competitive sport. The range extends from inflatable leisure boards to carbon race boards and foil boards, and the values spread accordingly from three figures to four figures.
With foil boards the wing is the item that needs attention. A carbon foil projects below the board, is the first thing to make contact whenever something goes wrong and costs a considerable part of the value of the set to repair or to replace. Under full hull cover, damage to the foil from collision and grounding is covered, wear and delamination are not. Check the deductible against the price of a replacement foil.
For windsurfers the rig is the second carrier of value. Sails, masts, booms and fins belong in the application as accessories, only declared values are replaced, and a complete set of sails is a four-figure item.
