Fliteboard from Australia builds electric hydrofoil boards and, alongside Lift and Waydoo, is one of the well known suppliers. The boards reach well over forty kilometres per hour and, in insurance terms, are motorised watercraft.
That is the decisive point: private third-party liability insurance generally does not cover e-foils, because they are excluded as motorised watercraft. As the first broker we developed a dedicated tariff for them, third-party liability and limited hull cover for the board, battery included. Also check the registration and licence requirements: they depend on the power output, not on the design.

Does my private third-party liability insurance cover a Fliteboard?
As a rule no, e-foils are motorised watercraft and are usually excluded from private third-party liability policies. A separate policy is needed.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On jetboards and eFoils the battery is the point: a fire is covered, a loss of capacity over the years is wear.
