Riva from Sarnico has been building since 1842 and is the only boat brand with genuine collector status. Alongside the modern models, the classic mahogany boats, above all the Aquarama, are a chapter of their own: their value rises instead of falling.
That is precisely what makes the insurance special. With a classic Riva, any valuation based on the year of construction is pointless; what is needed is an agreed value based on a valuation report that reflects the collectors' market, and it should be adjusted regularly. With wooden hulls there is a further point: restoration is handwork carried out by a few specialist yards, and repair costs are correspondingly high. Both belong in the discussion before the policy is taken out, not in the event of a claim.

Licence
A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration
Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.
