Worth knowing
Anderson Rigden & Perkins Ltd; cover, cost and conditions
Two ranges are available for Anderson Rigden & Perkins Ltd: the Anderson 22 from 1973 to 1982 and the Anderson 26 from 1979 to 1986. If such a boat is moved on a trailer, with us the trailer is covered by the boat insurance at no extra premium, and no separate policy is needed for it.
Cover does not end at the water. It also applies during craning and launching, while in transit and in winter storage. It is precisely when moving between trailer and water that damage occurs, and alongside this full hull cover includes collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts together with the outboard.
Both ranges were discontinued in the nineteen eighties, so the boats in circulation are second-hand. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and full hull cover runs on an agreed value with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the boat trailer have to be insured separately?
No. The boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium. Launching, craning and time in transit are also included, as is the time in winter storage.
Does anything change if the Anderson 22 is bought second-hand?
No. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. For a dispute after buying a used boat we additionally offer legal expenses cover for water sports.

Series by Anderson Rigden & Perkins Ltd, build years and cover
Anderson 26 is a sailing yacht from Anderson Rigden & Perkins Ltd, built from 1979 to 1986.
Anderson 22 is a sailing boat from Anderson Rigden & Perkins Ltd, built from 1973 to 1982.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
