Worth knowing
Caprice; cover, cost and conditions
A single model range is recorded for the boatyard, the sailing yacht Caprice from the years 1964 to 1975. Further details on origin, size or programme are not available. For us that changes nothing: small series and home-built boats are insurable, and so are boats consisting of a single model.
Production ended decades ago, and every one of these vessels is a used boat today. We insure irrespective of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In full hull cover an agreed value is arranged, in the Premium tariff without an age limit, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
For the premium the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range count. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, on which the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium build. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a boat from a very small series be covered?
Yes. Small series and home-built boats are insurable. A year of construction from the nineteen-sixties is no obstacle either, because we insure irrespective of year of construction and previous owners.
How do I switch from my current company?
Through the switching service. NAMMERT cancels the previous policy free of charge, so that you do not have to deal with the deadline. The new cover begins with the tariff level you have chosen.

Series by Caprice, build years and cover
Caprice is a sailing yacht from Caprice, built from 1964 to 1975.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
