On a yacht from the years of construction 1977 to 1983 there is no new price to serve as an anchor. An agreed value is therefore arranged; in the event of a claim compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit in the full hull cover. The arranged value is thus established before the loss occurs.
Over decades such yachts are converted, re-engined and re-equipped. Electronics and permanently installed equipment therefore belong in the list drawn up when taking out the policy. Vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard as well as damage in winter storage are then covered too.

Are conversions and owner's own work insurable?
Yes. Small series and self-built boats can be insured. What matters is that conversions and installed equipment appear in the list, so that the agreed value reflects the actual worth.
Does the cover also apply ashore?
Yes, in winter storage, during craning, during launching and in transit. The limited hull cover covers fire, storm, lightning strike and theft of the whole boat there, and a boat trailer is included at no extra premium.
