Two designs are recorded: the Paladin 117 as a sailing yacht, built from 1984 to 1999, and the Ville Audrain as a cabin catamaran from 1983 to 1998. Both production periods are complete. For insurance purposes the year of construction and previous owners are not grounds for exclusion.
After decades on board, the equipment list determines the compensation. Navigation electronics, fittings and permanently installed equipment belong in the list, so that the agreed value reflects the value in full and full hull cover pays with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
A cabin catamaran and a monohull yacht are recorded differently; the type of boat is a premium factor in its own right. With sailing boats the sail area also counts, along with value, year of construction and cruising range. Club races are included from the Basis-Plus level onwards.

How is electronic equipment carried on board treated?
It belongs in the list drawn up when the policy is taken out. Only then does the agreed value reflect the full value. Theft of parts including the outboard is covered by full hull cover, as is vandalism.
Is a catamaran treated differently from a monohull yacht?
The type of boat is one of the premium factors, alongside value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range. The scope of cover itself does not differ; the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium are open in the same way.
