Worth knowing
ES Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
One sailing yacht is documented, the ES 44 with years of construction from 2009 to 2014. No further ranges are known, and we add nothing. Boats from a limited production run can be insured at NAMMERT, as can small series and home-built boats.
Yachts of that build period now change hands second-hand. For a dispute after buying a used boat or with a yard, NAMMERT offers legal expenses cover for water sports as well. It can be arranged together with third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover in a single contract.
When buying, the agreed value also counts. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and indemnifies with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with scoring status are to be stated when you take out the policy.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Does the insurance help in a dispute with the previous owner?
For that there is legal expenses cover for water sports. It applies to disputes after buying a used boat just as it does to a dispute with a yard.
How long does a yacht from 2009 remain eligible for full hull cover?
In the Premium tariff full hull cover indemnifies with no age limit. The year of construction affects the premium but does not limit the cover.

Series by ES Yachts, build years and cover
ES 44 is a sailing yacht from ES Yachts, built from 2009 to 2014.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
