Worth knowing
Fadara; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor yacht ranges are recorded for Fadara, the Taurus 42 and the Taurus 55, both with years of construction from 1990 to 1997. No further models are available, and production has ended. For yachts from that period the question of how their value is fixed in the contract comes to the fore.
The answer is the agreed value. It is agreed when the policy is taken out, is stated in the contract and is paid out in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation, new for old. We insure irrespective of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, so that even a Taurus 42 passed on several times obtains cover without detours.
The hull insurance covers, in the full hull cover, collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, and in the limited hull cover fire, storm, lightning strike, theft of the entire boat and damage in winter storage. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What applies to a Taurus 55 with several previous owners?
We insure irrespective of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. An agreed value is agreed, on the basis of which indemnity is paid in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation, new for old.
Does a Taurus 42 still fall within the scope of taking out cover online?
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online. If the value is above that, an examination of the individual case follows. The international certificate of insurance in ten languages comes with it.

Series by Fadara, build years and cover
Taurus 42 is a motor yacht from Fadara, built from 1990 to 1997.
Taurus 55 is a motor yacht from Fadara, built from 1990 to 1997.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
