Worth knowing
Gallart; cover, cost and conditions
Four motor yacht ranges and one sailing yacht are recorded for Gallart, with years of construction between 1973 and 1995. Production is complete, and the programme ranged from the 10,50 MP to the 17,50 MY. We insure boats from this period with an agreed value and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Anyone taking such a yacht abroad needs proof of cover in many harbours. We issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. The cruising range is recorded in the contract and, alongside value, year of construction and engine power, is one of the premium factors.
Third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Where does the proof for foreign harbours come from?
You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. It documents your cover to port authorities and marinas without your having to request it.
Does hull cover also apply at night?
Yes. Cover applies continuously, including in winter storage, during craning, during launching and while in transit.

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
