Worth knowing
Harlaar; cover, cost and conditions
A single sailing yacht is listed, the Enkhuizen II from the construction years 1965 to 1972. No further model ranges are documented, and nothing can be said about sizes or design. For the insurance that is enough: we accept boats regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
When buying a yacht more than fifty years old, the replacement value can hardly be derived from lists. The value is therefore settled as an agreed value and replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit.
For the premium the sail area, value, year of construction, type of boat and cruising range count, not the name of the boatyard. If a dispute with the seller or the boatyard arises after the purchase, legal expenses cover for water sports applies, which we offer in addition. We cancel the previous contract free of charge under the switching service.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How is a yacht from 1968 valued?
The value is settled as an agreed value when the contract is concluded. In the event of a claim compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), so that the settlement does not depend on current market data.
Can a boat without a complete chain of previous owners be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of the year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. What matters for the contract are the details on the type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range.

Series by Harlaar, build years and cover
Enkhuizen II is a sailing yacht from Harlaar, built from 1965 to 1972.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
