Worth knowing
Ibis; cover, cost and conditions
We have no model ranges on file for this manufacturer; neither production periods nor types of boat are recorded. That does not affect insurability, because what matters are the data of the boat and not those of the yard. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
The premium is determined by the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power or sail area and the cruising range. On this basis rests the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. Small series and self-built boats can be insured just as production boats can.
In the full hull cover an agreed value is arranged, compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that an individual review follows. We cancel the previous policy free of charge.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a boat be insured if no yard data is on file?
Yes, for Ibis too: We need the data of the boat: type of boat, value, year of construction,
engine power or sail area and cruising range.
Small series and self-built boats can also be insured.
What is the premium based on if nothing is known about the brand?
For Ibis: On the boat itself.
Type of boat, value, year of construction,
engine power or sail area and cruising range determine the premium.
The name of the yard does not enter into the calculation.
