Not every boat can be assigned to a standard category. For the Katago 800, built between 2015 and 2022, no fixed type of boat is on file. It can be insured nonetheless: we also accept small series and self-built boats, and we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.

For a quotation we need the key data of the boat: value, year of construction, propulsion or sail area and the cruising range. From this the premium results, and the brand never enters the calculation. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy can be taken out online.

Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis, and limited hull cover and full hull cover build on it. The full hull cover works with an agreed value, with no deduction for depreciation and in the Premium tariff without an age limit. A boat trailer is included at no extra premium.

Frequent questions

Do you also accept small series and self-built boats?

Yes. Small series and self-built boats can be insured. We start from the data of the individual boat, not from how widespread a model is or from the name of the yard.

What happens above 2.5 million euros?

Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online. If the value is above that, we assess the individual case and agree the agreed value with you individually.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).

Registration

Registration from 3 hp; for trips abroad carry the boat certificate or flag document.

Waters

Inland, coastal and abroad; plan fairways, bridge clearances, draught and tides.

Equipment

Lifesaving gear, fire extinguisher, anchor, signalling equipment and correct navigation lights.

Cruising range

The agreed cruising range is stated in the policy and can be extended at any time.

Weather
