LM 24: cover, cost and conditions
LM 24: for the premium the model name is not the deciding figure. What counts is the type of boat, its year, its value, its engine output and the waters you sail, the five entries you make in the online calculator.
For the LM 24: On a sailing boat the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting from a gust or a collision is covered, worn terminals after twenty years are not. Sails and standing rigging are included under full cover.
What does cover for a LM 24 cost? The premium starts from €39 a year for a sailing boat, from €49 for a motorboat. For a LM 24 at the usual market value of €8,000 the premium is €308 a year: liability and hull in Basis-Plus, North Sea and Baltic, about 35 m² of sail, hull excess €250, paid annually. Hull cover accounts for €219, liability for €89. Tariff as of 03.11.2026, your own boat may differ. Hull cover follows the value: partial cover answers for fire, storm, lightning, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage; full cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts. On a total loss we pay the agreed value, and in the Premium tariff with no deduction for new-for-old.
Bought used, imported or ordered new: we write the LM 24 with a berth in Germany and abroad alike. The international certificate of insurance reaches you automatically in ten languages, and taking cover out before the handover pays off, because transport and the first launch are then already covered.
Not to be mixed up with its sisters: this is the LM 24, number twenty-four.
