Worth knowing
Marin Park; cover, cost and conditions
Two model ranges are available, the Vagabond 31 from the years 1979 to 1990 and the Swede 38 from the years 1981 to 1989. Both sailing yachts come from production that has ended. For such boats the agreed value is the decisive point in the contract.
It records the value that has been agreed, regardless of how a current market value would turn out years later. Full hull cover indemnifies with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners.
For the premium on a sailing yacht the sail area counts instead of the engine power, along with the type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Above everything stands third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
What does agreed value mean in the event of a claim?
The value agreed when the policy is taken out serves as the basis for indemnity. No deduction for depreciation ("new for old") is made, and in the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit.
Can yachts from the nineteen-seventies also be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The premium is based on the type of boat, the value, the year of construction, the sail area and the cruising range.

Series by Marin Park, build years and cover
Vagabond 31 is a sailing yacht from Marin Park, built from 1979 to 1990.
Swede 38 is a sailing yacht from Marin Park, built from 1981 to 1989.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
