Worth knowing
Morris Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Morris Yachts is listed with 21 models, mostly sailing yachts. The range runs from the Morris 29 through the 36, 42 and 46 to the Morris 52, complemented by x, RS and GT variants. Build years run from 1991 to current production, lengths from 8.9 to 18.9 m.
For sailing yachts across this range, precise details of value, rig and cruising area matter so the cover fits the use. For build years from the 1990s an agreed fixed value can make more sense than pure market value. That keeps the value of a well kept Morris properly protected even after decades.
NAMMERT insures Morris Yachts regardless of build year and place of purchase. The premium can be calculated in the online calculator in 5 minutes. The result is a quote that fits your specific yacht.

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
