Inland waters or the coast: the cruising range is one of the details from which the premium results. The Vector 6 as a sailing boat and the Vector 10.2 as a sailing yacht have been built since 2018 and up to the present day. For both, the sailing area is recorded in the contract and can be adjusted later.
If the cruising range is extended, we settle that within the running contract. For trips across the border we issue the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Since both ranges are still being built, new as well as used boats come into consideration. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and cancel a previous contract free of charge. With sailing boats, the sail area rather than engine power enters into the premium.

What changes when the sailing area changes?

Do the same rules apply to a sailing boat and a sailing yacht?

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
