How the place works
A long stretch with locks, tight bends and the Rothensee boat lift. Waiting times are part of the plan, and anyone trying to shorten them ends up in the same chamber as a freighter that has more right there than room.
What breaks there
Damage arises in the lift and in the chambers from contact with walls, bollards and the neighbouring boat, and while waiting at unprepared places. The amounts are rarely high, but the number of cases is.
