Worth knowing
Agilis Jettenders GmbH Maxym Starchenko; cover, cost and conditions
Agilis Jettenders builds rigid inflatables meant to ride along as tenders for larger yachts. The key feature is the drive: Agilis uses water jets instead of propellers, which helps in shallow water off a beach and around swimmers. Each boat is named Agilis plus a number giving the length in centimetres. The smallest, the Agilis 280, is aimed at yachts from about 38 feet and carries three people. At the top sits the Agilis 560D, a ten person tender which the builder pitches as superyacht comfort in a smaller size. The letters C and D mark different versions.
Our records list seven Agilis models, all RIBs. Sizes run from the 2.8 metre Agilis 280 to the 5.6 metre 560D, with the 305C at 3.05, the 355C at 3.55, the 360D at 3.6 and the 400C and 400D at 4 metres each in between. Three models carry a C, three a D, and only the 280 has no letter. Six of the seven are 4 metres or less. All seven lines are recorded from build year 2020 and run to the most recent build years, so the whole range is young and still in production.
A jet tender lives a different life from a stand-alone boat. It is lifted aboard, stowed in a garage or towed astern, and spends its days shuttling between anchorage and beach. Jets dislike sand and weed, so rinse the intake after beach landings and check the impeller housing regularly.
