Altamar is a yacht builder from Argentina working in the larger motor yacht sizes. The yard sums up its approach in a single line: wood, leather and labour come from Argentina, hardware from Europe, systems and equipment from the United States. Yachts are built to the guidelines of the Italian Register, while machinery and equipment are installed to US Coast Guard and American Boat and Yacht Council rules. For the Altamar 50, the press described a hand-laid solid fibreglass hull without coring, a grid of stringers with no wood in it and osmosis-inhibiting resins below the waterline. The Altamar 66 was presented as the flagship of the fleet, and the brand had its own representation in the United States.
