ARS Monaco built motor yachts around the turn of the millennium, in two separate lines: the RS models and the Advantage models. Cabin and flybridge yachts from a little over eight to almost eighteen metres make up the range. With the RS yachts the number tracks the length in feet, so the RS 29 is 8.4 metres and the RS 43 12.98 metres. The Advantage names 120, 140 and 170 follow no such simple rule.
Our model records hold eight ARS Monaco designs, all motor yachts. Five belong to the RS line (RS 29, RS 33, RS 33 st, RS 38 and RS 43) and three to the Advantage line (120, 140 and 170). The Advantage 140 opens in 1995, the others in 1998, and every line ends in 2005. Lengths run from 8.4 metres for the RS 29 to 17.9 metres for the Advantage 170, the largest model; seven of the eight stay below 13 metres.
Every ARS Monaco is now at least twenty years old, and many have had new engines, upholstery or electronics. A survey of the shafts, seacocks and exhaust elbows tells more about such a yacht than its build year. Most live on a marina berth through the season and come ashore for winter, where a dry hull and a run of the bilge pumps keep problems small.
