Worth knowing
Bonum Marin; cover, cost and conditions
Two motor yacht model ranges are documented for Bonum Marin: the Bonum 25 from the years 1981 to 1990 and the Bonum 800 from 1994 to 2003. Both series are finished and behind us, so a change of insurer almost always concerns a vessel bought second hand.
If you switch to us, we cancel the previous contract free of charge. You give us the existing policy, we take care of the rest and coordinate the start date so that no gap arises. The new contract then rests on third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
An agreed value applies to the hull cover, indemnification is made with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts are included, and in limited hull cover also fire, storm, lightning strike and damage in winter storage.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How does the switch from an existing contract to NAMMERT work?
We cancel the previous contract free of charge and coordinate the start of the new contract accordingly. In this way no gap in cover remains between the two policies.
Does a year of construction from the eighties bring restrictions with it?
No. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In the Premium tariff the agreed value applies with no age limit and with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

Series by Bonum Marin, build years and cover
Bonum 800 is a motor yacht from Bonum Marin, built from 1994 to 2003.
Bonum 25 is a motor yacht from Bonum Marin, built from 1981 to 1990.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
