Bruckmann Yachts builds in Mississauga, Ontario, on the western shore of Lake Ontario. The yard traces back to the German born Canadian boatbuilder Erich Bruckmann, who had earlier run the custom division at C&C Yachts. It is known for two motor yacht lines drawn by Mark Ellis, Bluestar and Abaco, alongside sailing yachts under the Bruckmann name. The Bluestar models carry their length in feet: the Bluestar 29.9 is 9.11 metres, or 29.9 feet, and the 36.6 measures 11.16 metres, exactly 36.6 feet. On the other models, too, the number sits close to the length in feet.

Bluestar has three models (29.9, 36.6 and 38), Abaco two (40 and 47), and the 34e, 56 and 65 complete the motor yachts. The sailing side consists of the 42 Cruising Sloop, the 42 Daysailer, the 47 and the 50 Mk II. Build years in our data start in 2007; the Abaco 40 joins in 2012, the Bluestar 38 in 2013 and the Abaco 47 in 2016. Eight lines run into the latest build years, while the 47, 56 and 65 end in 2014 and the Bluestar 36.6 in 2015. Lengths range from 9.11 metres (Bluestar 29.9) to 20.76 metres (Bruckmann 65).
A Bruckmann is a berth boat, whether it is a nine metre Bluestar for weekends on the lake or a twenty metre motor yacht for longer cruises. Fine interior joinery stays in good condition with good ventilation and a dehumidifier aboard over the winter. The motor yachts need their engines and shafts serviced every season, and the sailing yachts their rig checked before launch. Fresh water lakes are gentle on hull and fittings, while a move to salt water calls for closer attention to anodes and metalwork.
