Conavroegh B.V. is a Dutch yard from Geldermalsen in the province of Gelderland, best known for its Target motor yachts, which still turn up in used boat listings under the yard's name. The Target names hint at character: Super, Royal, Expresse, Grandioos and Nautical. Alongside them come the Rob 900 and two sailing yachts, the Conasail 12.85 NJ and the Wadder. The boats are cut for Dutch waters, with aft cabins, open helms or cockpits and a size that handles bridges, locks and canals as easily as the IJsselmeer.
We record eleven Conavroegh models, nine motor yachts and two sailing yachts. Eight carry the Target name: the Super from 1965, the Expresse and the Royal from 1967, the Expresse "S" from 1972, the Royal E from 1974, the Grandioos 850 AK and the Nautical from 1976, and the Target 12.70 from 2001 to 2008. After a gap, the Rob 900 (running until 2013), the Target 12.70 and the Conasail 12.85 NJ appear from 2001. Many Targets date from the 1960s and 1970s, so engine hours, wiring and the state of the hull matter more than the year on the papers. Their natural ground is the inland network of rivers, lakes and canals, with a winter ashore under a tarpaulin or in a shed. A careful owner checks the fuel system and the stern gear each spring before the first lock of the season.
