De Birs is an Egyptian yard. Tarek Ragheb founded it in 1993, and its boats are built in Alexandria in the Amreya free zone. The yard builds large motor yachts in small numbers, adapted to each owner, which a broker puts at between 85 and 125 feet. Much of the machinery and equipment comes from suppliers in Europe and the United States, and the yard also works with European designers. Its premises include joinery, mechanical and electrical workshops and a test tank of its own. The yachts are recognisable by a mix of European engineering and a styling the yard itself describes as Middle Eastern.
