Doqueve Yachts; cover, cost and conditions

Doqueve Yachts is a Spanish yard from the Valencia region, founded in 1988. It builds motor yachts, mostly flybridge cruisers and sporty cabin yachts for the Mediterranean. In the 1990s the yard grew its production and moved into larger models, and the Majestic line arrived around the turn of the century. Wide bathing platforms, flybridges on the bigger boats and early names borrowed from places such as Tabarca or Venecia are typical, while later models are simply named after their length in feet.

Our records list 16 Doqueve models, all motor yachts. Five open the list in 1990: the Tabarca 780, the Marathon 900L, the Venecia 1150 and the 360 and 410. Four carry the Majestic name: the 390 B from 1997, the 420 and the Doqueve Majestic 460 from 2000 and the Majestic 58 from 2002. The newest generation, the Doqueve 34, 39, 43, 46, 51 and 58, dates from 2004 or 2005, while the Doqueve 80 was built from 1997. All lines end by 2012. Lengths run from 8.6 metres (Tabarca 780) to 24 metres (Doqueve 80).

Most Doqueve yachts today live on a Mediterranean berth all year and come out of the water only for antifouling and service. Strong sun is hard on gelcoat, canvas and flybridge upholstery, so canvas protection and regular polishing pay off. Twin diesels on the larger yachts need careful attention to cooling systems in warm water.
