Production lies in the past, the existing fleet sails on. NAMMERT insures regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so that boats from that period which have been sold several times also receive a policy. Small production runs and home-built boats can be insured as well.
Full hull cover with an agreed value fixes the value agreed upon and pays out with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium tiers.

What happens in the event of a total loss of a boat bought second-hand?
What is decisive is the agreed value that was set, not the purchase price. Payment is made with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff also with no age limit and regardless of the place of purchase.
Does a long chain of previous owners have an effect?
No. Cover is granted regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. The type of boat, the value, the year of construction and the cruising range feed into the premium, the name of the yard never does.

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
