Nordic belongs to the boat class. For the insurance the builder is never a reason to decline: what decides is the type of boat, its year, its value, its engine output and the waters you sail, the five figures you enter in the online calculator.
Which cover suits a Nordic? Liability is the foundation and settles injury, property and financial damage to third parties with €10 m to €50 m. Hull cover protects your own boat: partial cover for fire, storm, lightning, theft of the whole boat and damage in winter storage; full cover adds collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts, the outboard included.
What does insurance for a Nordic cost? The premium starts from €39 a year for a sailing boat, from €49 for a motorboat and follows value, year built, engine output or sail area, and cruising range. Full cover settles at the agreed value, with no deduction for new-for-old.

What does cover for a Nordic cost?
Cover starts from €39 a year for a sailing boat, from €49 for a motorboat; the exact premium takes a few minutes in the online calculator.
How high should the liability sum be?
We write €10 m to €50 m. The higher sum costs little more and covers the one case that has no natural ceiling: injury to a person.
On a total loss, do I get the replacement value?
Under full cover, yes; at the agreed value, and in the Premium tariff without limit and with no deduction for new-for-old.
Can I switch from my existing insurer?
Yes. Our switching service cancels the old contract free of charge and you keep a permanent switching discount. You pay only once the old contract has run out.

A powerboat licence (inland or coastal) is required from 15 hp (11.03 kW).
Registration

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not. The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
