In the Baltic the rates are usually two to three euros per metre, and in the Mediterranean in high season they are considerably higher. Electricity, water and the local visitor tax come on top of that. A two-week cruise in a ten-metre yacht costs several hundred euros in berthing fees alone.
In a visitors' harbour the same rules apply as in your home port: anything you damage on other boats or on the pontoon is handled by the liability cover. Anything that happens to your own boat comes under your own hull cover, and that applies even when nobody is liable.
Damage to rented property such as pontoons and storage units is included in the liability cover from Basis-Plus upwards. That is the most common claim in a visitors' harbour: a damaged bollard, a dented finger berth.
