How the place works
From June to September the southwest monsoon holds six to eight on the Beaufort scale for weeks, with a full grown swell from the southwest and rain that cuts visibility to nothing. In that period the Indian west coast is effectively closed to yachts, and many ports will not take them.
What breaks there
Anyone out in the monsoon has sustained loading on rig and fittings and water below. The real danger, though, is having no port to reach when something breaks.
