Aka Marine; cover, cost and conditions
Aka Marine is part of the Z Nautic Group and builds inflatables for hard use. A dealer listing for the larger F47-C describes the family that the models ending in C belong to, the FIB-C series: rugged, portable work boats meant to carry a lot. The recipe is straightforward. A rigid keel and solid aluminium floorboards give a stable platform, while large-diameter tubes and a reinforced hull are there to take heavy loads without losing stability. The fabric is thermo-welded PVC with heavy-duty rubbing protection built for commercial work. These boats are recognisable by that plain working finish, where strength matters more than leisure-boat trim.
Our model records list one design for Aka Marine: the F43-C, an inflatable of 4.30 metres built from 2019 to 2023. The line does not reach into the most recent build years, and larger boats such as the F47-C are not filed under this brand in our data. The figures in the name give the length, 43 for 4.3 metres. At this size the boat sits between a tender and a small work boat: long enough for several people and their kit, compact enough to move about ashore. Since even the youngest boats have a few seasons behind them, condition decides a purchase more than the build year does.
With an inflatable the tubes come first. Pump the boat up and leave it overnight to see whether it holds pressure, and look closely at the welded seams, the transom joint and the valves. Thermo-welded PVC is sturdy, but sunlight and dirty storage age it, so a tarpaulin and a clean, dry place out of season help a lot. Aluminium floorboards should sit snugly without bent edges or corrosion at the joints. On a work boat the rubbing strakes take the knocks of quay walls and ship sides; worn strakes are normal, worn tube fabric beneath them is not. Check the outboard mounting plate for cracks.
