Two sailing boat model ranges are recorded, the Alu 650 and the Alu 730, both with a build period from 1976 to 1983. Boats from those years today change hands exclusively second-hand. For hull cover we therefore agree an agreed value that reflects the present condition including equipment.
With older boats an agreed value has the advantage that in the event of a claim there is no dispute about the current market value. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. This is supplemented by cover for collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts.
Since both ranges ended in 1983, production lies in the past; nothing is recorded about sizes or further models. For calculating the premium, type of boat, value, year of construction, sail area and cruising range are sufficient. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros forms the basis of every contract.

Can boats from the seventies still be given hull cover at all?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. Full hull cover runs on an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
How is the sail area taken into account in the premium?
With sailing boats the sail area takes the place of the engine power. Together with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range it produces the premium. The brand itself does not enter into it.
