Worth knowing
Concordia; cover, cost and conditions
The Concordia yawl, built between 1938 and 1966 in the versions 39 and 41, is listed as a classic. Around one hundred boats of this yawl were built and almost all of them are still sailing. For a sailing yacht of this kind NAMMERT agrees an agreed value, so that the value does not have to be renegotiated in the event of a claim.
For sailing yachts the sail area takes the place of the engine output when the premium is calculated. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added to this, while the yard itself never affects the premium. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards, and races with ranking status are declared when you take out the policy.
The country of origin is given as the USA and the length as 12 metres. Place of purchase and previous owners do not change insurability, we provide cover regardless of them. Full hull cover pays with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the boat.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
How is the value of a yawl built over such a long period determined?
An agreed value is set when the policy is taken out. In the event of a total loss it applies with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff also with no age limit for the boat.
For a yawl, does the sail area or the engine output count?
For sailing yachts the sail area goes into the premium. Type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range are added to this. The brand has no influence on the premium in any case.

Series by Concordia, with value and cover
Concordia Yawl 39 / 41 is a sailing yacht from Concordia (the USA), built from 1938 to 1966, and today changes hands at between €190,000 and €590,000.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
