Worth knowing
Boréal; cover, cost and conditions
In Tréguier, Boréal builds aluminium blue water yachts between 13 and 16 metres with a lifting keel, bilge boards and an inside steering position, yachts for high latitudes, built for Greenland, Patagonia and Antarctica. Expedition sailing is a design objective here, not a marketing promise.
This leads directly to the most important point: ice navigation is not automatically included. The worldwide cruising range applies without restriction, but navigation in ice areas requires an express agreement. If you are planning a voyage to high latitudes, you should talk to us beforehand; hull reinforcement, equipment, crew experience, salvage cover and the deductible each need to be clarified individually. A conversation beforehand is easier than a discussion after the loss.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Do I need a special agreement for Greenland?
Yes, for Boréal too: ice navigation is a separate risk and is not automatically included.
Please discuss the voyage with us beforehand;
