Aquacrafts; cover, cost and conditions
Aquacrafts builds the DinghyGo inflatables in the Netherlands. What sets them apart is that each DinghyGo was designed from the start to sail as well. A conventional tube surrounds an inflatable floor that stiffens the boat, and a rigid transom takes an outboard. With the mast up it sails; without it, it is an ordinary tender for rowing or motoring. Afterwards the whole boat packs into two bags. The Orca has a deeper vee and a larger sail than the Nomad.
Our model records hold seven Aquacrafts entries, all inflatables without fixed engine, under six model names: the Orca 325 appears twice, once from 2014 at 3.25 metres and once from 2018 with a length of 6.96 metres that does not fit this boat. We use 3.25 metres and give the size range as 2.2 to 3.3 metres. In order of length: DinghyGo S at 2.2 m, Nomad S at 2.3 m, 2 Beach and 3 Nomad at 2.75 m each, Orca 280 at 2.8 m and Orca 325 at 3.25 m. First build years are 2011 for the S and 2 Beach, 2014 for the 3 Nomad and Orca 325, 2016 for the Nomad S and 2017 for the Orca 280; all run into recent years.
A DinghyGo lives in a locker or a car boot and comes out at the beach or the anchorage. Rinse tube, floor and sail with fresh water, dry everything before packing it away, and keep the bags out of the sun. Children learn to sail in it in a sheltered bay, and the yacht crew gets a tender that doubles as a toy.
