Worth knowing
Baltika; cover, cost and conditions
Two sailing yachts are on record for Baltika, the 74 with years of construction from 1971 to 1990 and the 76 from 1973 to 1991. Production has been completed for over three decades. We insure boats from that period regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, with an agreed value in the full hull cover.
Older sailing yachts often carry an outboard on the stern pulpit. Theft of parts including the outboard is part of our full hull cover, as are collision, grounding and vandalism. Theft of the entire boat is already covered by the limited hull cover, as are fire, storm and lightning strike.
List the electronics and equipment in your inventory as well, so that the agreed value reflects the actual scope. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the outboard of a Baltika 74 covered as well?
Yes. Theft of parts including the outboard is part of the full hull cover. What matters is that the engine and equipment are recorded in the inventory so that the agreed value matches them.
Does the year of construction 1971 change anything about acceptance?
No, we insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. The year of construction enters into the premium, but does not decide whether a boat is insurable.

Series by Baltika, build years and cover
Baltika 76 is a sailing yacht from Baltika, built from 1973 to 1991.
Baltika 74 is a sailing yacht from Baltika, built from 1971 to 1990.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
