Astilleros Belliure was founded in 1953 by Vicente Belliure in Calpe on the Costa Blanca and first built wooden fishing boats. In 1974 it set up a leisure boat division and moved into glass reinforced plastic. Sailing yachts of 30 to 50 feet followed, drawn by Peter Ibold, and later large sailing yachts of 63 to 86 feet designed by Ron Holland. After that the yard turned to motor yachts, first the 40 MY, 48 and 60, then the 44, 46 and 52. The names are simple: Belliure plus a number that roughly gives the length in feet.

Our model records list 26 Belliure models: 16 sailing yachts and ten motor yachts. Recorded build years run from 1968 to 2027, and six models continue into current production. Lengths range from 9.3 to 26.2 metres, half of them between 12.8 and 18.8 metres. The sailing yachts run from the Belliure 30 at 9.3 metres to the Belliure 50 at 15.8 metres, while the big 1980s yachts include the 63 at 19.2, the 83 at 25.5 and the 86/90 at 26.2 metres. The motor yachts run from the 40 MY at 13.2 metres to the Belliure 66 at 20 metres.

Many Belliure sailing yachts are built for bluewater cruising, while the motor yachts mostly cruise the Spanish coast and the Balearics. A large part of the range is more than thirty years old, so value rests on hull and deck, rig and standing rigging, engines and hours, and on how thoroughly a yacht has been refitted.
