The Bodan-Werft stood in the harbour of Kressbronn on the northern shore of Lake Constance and was founded as a shipyard in 1919. It built its reputation on ferries and passenger vessels for the larger Alpine lakes, supplying ships to the White Fleet on Lake Constance and to operators on Lake Zurich and Lake Lugano, among them the MS Linth of 1952. Sailing yachts of the Miranda line also carry the yard's name. One Miranda Feria on the used market is described as a GRP yacht of 8.30 metres by 2.50 metres, drawing 1.20 metres, with a small Yanmar diesel on a shaft. The company stopped building ships in 2011; a swimming pool business and a marina continue under the Bodan name.

On an inland lake the boats usually spend the winter ashore, which spares the hull but not the standing rigging, so ask when it was last replaced.
