Cantiere Nautico VZ sits on the banks of the river Sile, where the provinces of Venice and Treviso meet. Its forerunner was a well known shipwright, and woodworking still shapes the yard's boats today. Almost everything is done in house, from joinery and steelwork to systems and upholstery. VZ builds flybridge motor yachts between 56 and 68 feet, only a few at a time and partly tailored to the owner. The yard made its name in the nineties with the VZ 18, an 18 metre yacht presented in 1993 and drawn by the Nuvolari Lenard studio.

The VZ 16 followed from 1999, also until 2010, and at 17.5 metres is the shortest design. The VZ 20 arrived in 2001, was built until 2015 and at 20.8 metres is the yard's largest yacht. None of the lines reaches into recent build years. All three sit close together between 17.5 and almost 21 metres; the records hold no smaller boats under the name.
With so much wood inside, a VZ rewards an owner who keeps the interior dry and ventilated. Varnished joinery, cabin soles and the teak on deck tell quickly whether a boat has been cared for.
