Worth knowing
Carlcraft; cover, cost and conditions
Older motor yachts present the real hurdle when it comes to the question of value. Two ranges from Carlcraft are recorded, the 43 and the 37, built between 1975 and 1983. Production therefore lies far in the past. In full hull cover we set an agreed value, in the Premium tariff with no age limit.
If something is replaced after so many years, the compensation should not fail because of the age of the boat. We settle with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). We have no information on the origin, construction method or sizes of these models, and they are not required for the contract either.
We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners, including a yacht that has changed owner several times since 1975. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros remains the basis, in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Is the value reduced for a boat from 1975?
No. Full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays with no deduction for depreciation (new for old). In the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit, however long ago production was.
Does it matter how many previous owners the boat has had?
No. We insure regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. What matters are the details of the boat itself and of the cruising range, not its history.

Series by Carlcraft, build years and cover
Carlcraft 43 is a motor yacht from Carlcraft, built from 1975 to 1983.
Carlcraft 37 is a motor yacht from Carlcraft, built from 1975 to 1982.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
